About Us
St. John the Baptist Parish is in the heart of the River Parishes - those communities located along the Mississippi River between New Orleans and Baton Rouge.
It’s an area rich in culture, history, and industry. Our school district prides itself on being an important part of this community and a leader in the education of children in St. John the Baptist Parish. We have adopted the motto of “Elevating Excellence Everyday” and see educating every child as a partnership between educators, parents and the entire community.
The St. John the Baptist Parish Public School District is the parish’s largest employer, providing approximately 900 jobs, and educates approximately 5,000 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade on 12 campuses. We further partner with a network of local childcare centers to ensure children in St. John the Baptist Parish are getting the care and education they need beginning as early as infants.
Our Administration and our 11-member School Board have a mission that our district will be a Top 10 School District in 5 Years and our teachers, administrators, support personnel, parents and the community are working every day toward that goal.
