Interactive Whiteboard Websites

These websites provide interactive resources to be used with your interactive whiteboard. These sites provide engaging lesson activities that are used to motivate all learners.
 
Thinkfinity - Search by standards or grade level for interactives, lesson plans, and other teaching resources.
 
Promethean Planet - Promethean has created a website where teachers are able to post flipcharts that are intended to be shared with other teachers. These flipcharts are not copyrighted and are made to be edited and used in your classroom.
 
Illuminations - Interactive resources for teaching math.
 
Interactive Whiteboard Links - This website was created by the Georgia Department of Education's Technology Center. This website has organized lists of links to be used with Interactive Whiteboards.
 
Scott Foresman provides links to videos, PowerPoints, parent newsletters, games, and websites to support the reading text for grades K-5. Many of these resources allow your students to interact with the Interactive Whiteboard, which will certainly keep them engaged!
 
Content Trailer Website
 
West Baton Rouge Parish School Technology Website - Content Trailers can be one of those tools that establish a strong visual point for students to grasp while they begin to inquire during the Readiness Mindful Teaching Phase.
 

So what is a Content Trailer? Very simply, a Content Trailer is a short, 2- to 3-minute, media-rich experience from which a point of inquiry can begin. The vehicle is unimportant in the relationship to the concept. Providing students with the images and sounds that can be attached to the textual information that they will be exploring can provide a profound shift in the way learning is engaged. Content Trailers can be one tool to help the process of inquiry begin.

Content trailers are a great tool to be used during the Readiness Mindful Teaching Phase. These videos are sure to grab your students' attention and get them into the lesson. You may also create a lesson where your students create their own content trailers, then you will be moving into the Transfer and Performance Stages of Mindful Teaching!

Webquest Websites

Webquests provide online higher order thinking projects that allow students to problem solve their way through discovering the content that the webquest is focusing on.

Webquest.org - This website allows teachers to search for different webquests by subject, grade level, or keyword. Click Find webquests and use the matrix search at the bottom of the page.

What if you could unblock only the good content on YouTube? Now you can! This free website allows educators to add school appropriate video clips from YouTube to an online library in order to share them with their students. This website uses no inappropriate ads, comments, or outside links.

St. John the Baptist Parish Library
St. John the Baptist Parish's Library offers a wealth of online resources, in addition to access to World Book Encyclopedia and EBSCO research tools. There are many free audiobooks and links to tumble-books for our beginning readers! Enjoy this site and become an active part of your public library system.

LPB Cyberchannel, previously named United Streaming provides a variety of educational videos for teachers to share with their students. Download the videos for free and use them year after year!

LRCE is dedicated to supporting innovation in education for students, teachers, administrators, higher education and families. LRCE houses a resource library of 45,000+ items which can be searched online. We are a shared resource center for educators in the public, private, parochial, charter, and home school sectors.
