Teacher Wins $15,000 in lab upgrades

West St. John High School teachers Kristen White, from left, and Rochelle Darville were recently recognized by Shell Louisiana/Alabama Manufacturing External Relations Manager Rochelle Touchard for winning the National Science Teachers Association's Shell Science Lab Regional Challenge. As the winner of the challenge, Darville will receive a lab makeover support package valued at $15,000 for her school. The challenge recognizes exceptional and innovative science educators in K–12 school programs for their exemplary approaches to science lab instruction utilizing limited school and laboratory resources and raises awareness and exposure of the outstanding work being done in the science education field in areas near Shell assets.
