The mission of the Office of Special Education is to provide specialized support to enable each student to access the general curriculum.
Students are screened through the Response to Intervention process at the school level.
Students who are identified as potentially needing additional assistance are referred to their School Building Level Committee. As a parent, you may refer your child by contacting the Response to Intervention/School Building Level Committee at your school.
If you are relocating to our parish, please bring a copy of your child's current IEP and evaluation to the St. John the Baptist Parish Special Education Office at 538 W. 2nd St. in LaPlace. If you do not have these records, we will request them from your child's previous school.
