Parents are hereby formally notified that for the 2025-2026 school year, only the students who attend Fifth Ward Elementary, East St. John High School, or East St. John Preparatory Elementary will be afforded the opportunity to exercise "School Choice" and attend either West St. John High School, Garyville Mt. Airy Magnet, LaPlace Elementary, West St. John Elementary, Lake Pontchartrain Elementary, or Emily C. Watkins Elementary under the following circumstances:
• Students reside in the district in an attendance zone other than the six schools above.
• The school the parent chooses to send their child/children has room to accept the student(s) in the grade(s) of the student(s).
• Parents can provide reliable transportation to and from school every day. Students who are not dropped off promptly in the morning and/or not picked up promptly every day in the afternoon will immediately be subject to transfer to the child's attendance zone school.
