The 11 members of the St. John the Baptist Parish School Board were sworn in for new terms during the Jan. 10 School Board meeting.
Returning members are Charo Holden for District 1, Albert "Ali" Burl III for District 2, Dr. Gerald Keller for District 3, Patrick Sanders for District 4, Sherry DeFrancesch for District 5, Keith Jones for District 6, Phillip Johnson for District 7, Shawn Wallace for District 9, Nia Mitchell for District 10 and Clarence Triche for District 11.
Joining the School Board is the newly elected member for District 8 Debbie Schum. Mrs. Schum has been a resident of St. John the Baptist Parish for 41 years, 31 of which she served as a teacher, principal or curriculum supervisor. She is currently the executive director for the Louisiana Association of Principals.
Board members also elected officers at the meeting. Patrick Sanders was elected president of the board for the upcoming year and Sherry DeFrancesch was elected vice president.
